Technical Assistance to the State of Minnesota in Developing Specialized Managed Care Programs for Individuals with Disabilities

This project involves providing a wide range of technical assistance and consultation to various parties in the state of Minnesota, including the Medicaid program, several counties. and a range of managed care plans as they begin the process of enrolling their SSI population in managed care.

Specific activities include, but are not limited to:

  • helping the state and counties to identify their target populations,
  • developing contract specifications,
  • identifying some of the important benefits for different disability groups,
  • developing a managed care readiness review tool and conducting the readiness review for different plans,
  • providing technical assistance around specific mental health and substance abuse issues, and
  • providing consultation around the wide range of issues the state, the counties and the health plans will face as they enroll the SSI population in managed care.
