FL Developmental Disabilities Council Project – Health Care System for Adults and Children with Developmental Disabilities

This project analyzed the services and benefits provided to adult individuals with developmental disabilities in Florida. The objectives of this project included:

  • Identifying the gaps in services for adults with developmental disabilities, particularly as they transition from pediatric services to adult services;
  • Identifying the gaps in benefits available through different funding sources for adults with developmental disabilities in Florida;
  • Examining the relevant regulatory, legislative and policy issues; and,
  • Developing products that the Council could use to work with the legislature, consumers, advocates, Medicaid, Florida Developmental Disabilities Program Office and other key partners to begin to advocate for a more comprehensive set of services for adults with developmental disabilities in Florida.
