Target Audience: Peers, Peer Supervisors, and Peer Program Advocates Having a basic understanding of what resistance is and what causes it can have an impact on the success of HAART.

Peers can play a role in helping clients understand why resistance matters, but only if they have a clear understanding of the issues involved. This webcast provides an overview of HIV drug resistance, its role in transmitting resistant HIV virus, and what clients and peers need to know about it. The webcast will also include an overview of the role of HIV biomedical interventions in reducing risk of HIV transmission. The Webcast includes speakers with extensive experience around HIV resistance and medication adherence:
