Two PEER Center partner employees featured in POZ magazine

The June issue of POZ magazine includes an article that interviews 31 long-term survivors living with HIV. Among them are two people who work closely with the PEER Center: Sylvia Young, peer advocate program manager at WORLD in Oakland, CA (part of the Lotus project) and LaTrischa Miles, adherence counselor at Kansas City Free Health Clinic (part of the People to People project).

Our favorite quote from Sylvia:

“Try not to read all the HIV/AIDS info online, for the info can be overwhelming.”

  • Our favorite quote from LaTrischa:

“Don’t get comfortable and focused on dying, because you have a lot of living to do.”
