Oral Health and HIV peer training toolkit on CD

The ECHO Project and the PEER Center worked together to create a module to train peers about the importance of oral health as part of overall health for people living with HIV and to engage clients in oral health care. This 3 1/2 hour lesson plan includes Powerpoint presentations on Oral Health and culminates in a Jeopardy Game to solidify participants’ newly acquired knowledge and skills.

Although the PEER Center project has ended, CDs are still available. To request a copy of the toolkit, including all the musical “bells and whistles” that enliven the presentations:

  1. Go to the HIV and Oral Health page
  2. Click the “Request this toolkit on CD” link.

ECHO, the Evaluation Center for HIV and Oral Health, is part of an initiative that develops and implements models of dental care designed to increase access to and quality of dental care for HIV-positive patients.
