At WORLD, the program staff reviews and discusses job descriptions with candidates, asks interview questions, checks references and arranges for the current peer advocates to do a second interview with candidates.
Harlem Hospital staff generally chooses peers who are referred by health care professionals and have been trained in-house. Harlem Hospital has several programs that utilize peer workers – the majority of the peers have been trained by the PACT program.
