What benefits do the peers in your programs receive?

At WORLD, benefits include health, dental, and vision plans, the option to join a 403B program, and paid vacation. At Kansas City Free Health Clinic, the peers start as volunteers, then move to monthly stipends and eventually become part-time employees earning hourly wages and sick/vacation/holiday benefits. At Harlem Hospital, peer workers are usually hired as part-time workers and paid a stipend. Because the majority of peer workers receive public assistance benefits, benefits are not provided so that a conflict with benefits does not occur.
