Effect of delayed access to oral health care on people living with HIV
Jane Fox, MPH, will present multisite data related to some of the chief complaints of people living with HIV/AIDS who have entered care for the first time in over a year as well factors associated with dental problems at the time of entry into care.
Increasing access to oral health care for persons with HIV, the dental case management model
Helene Bednarsh, BS, RDH, will present information on the role of dental case managers (DCMs) in increasing access to oral health care based on the results of a focus group, as well as strategies to incorporate DCMs into an oral health program.
Utilization of Dental Care Services Among Low Income HIV-Positive Persons in Primary Care
Yves Jeanty, University of Miami, will present data on the use of dental care services among a population of low income persons living with HIV/AIDS who had not seen a dental care provider during the twelve months prior to study enrollment.

Irshad Shaikh, MD, PhD, MPH, and Howell Strauss, DMD, will utilize a case study from AIDS Care Group to present information on client needs in underserved populations, and the features of a successful community-based health care delivery model.

Models for Increasing Access to Oral Health Care for Persons Living with HIV/AIDS
A panel session that will overview the HRSA Special Projects of National Significance Oral Health Initiative. ECHO team members Helene Bednarsh, BS, RDH, and Jane Fox, MPH, as well as representatives from four of the 15 demonstration sites, Kasey Harding (CHC), Phil Farmer, PhD (SHRT), Janet Leigh, DDS (LSU), Amanda McCluskey (HIV Alliance) will present their different programmatic models to increasing access to oral health care. ECHO will also present demographic data from the multisite evaluation.
