The Catalyst Center is a national center dedicated to improving health care coverage and financing for Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs (CYSHCN).

We work with states and stakeholder groups to identify strategies to:

Cover more kids
Close benefit gaps.
Pay for additional services
Build capacity

Families: February 15, 2015 was the last day to apply for health insurance coverage UNLESS:

  • You did not understand the requirement to enroll in coverage by February 15, 2015 AND
You owe a tax penalty for not having health coverage in 2014 AND
You are still without health coverage
  • You qualify for a special enrollment period (because life happens)
  • You are applying for Medicaid or CHIP – enrollment in these public health benefits is always open. Learn more about Medicaid and CHIP at insurekidsnow

If your child has special health care needs, you may be eligible for coverage at higher income levels, or for other public benefits programs in your state. Find the Family-to-Family Health Information Center in your state and other organizations that can assist you on the Catalyst Center’s family resources page.
