United Healthcare’s Children’s Foundation, funded by donations from United Health Group, United Healthcare and its employees in states across the country, addresses gaps in insurance coverage by paying for services that are not covered by a child’s commercial health insurance plan.
In Pennsylvania, Independence Blue Cross, Highmark Blue Shield Caring Foundation, and Capital Blue Cross Care Foundation subsidize premiums for low-income children enrolled in CHIP. Subsidies range from $10 – $50 per child per month, depending on the foundation and the plan enrollment choice made by the family.
